Project Overview
Legend Hire supplied a Legend Pro Aluminium Shoring Box with Griffo Arch Spreader for Maxibor, providing high-clearance trench wall protection within a confined excavation. The solution needed to be strong and easy to handle without adding complexity to the site. Legend Hire’s engineered trench box system, certified to AS 4744.1:2025, delivered the required working clearance and was installed using a single 20-tonne excavator, with no additional plant or manpower required.
The Challenge
Maxibor required a shoring solution that was durable and easy to handle, without adding unnecessary complexity to the site. There was a single 20-tonne excavator onsite, so any shoring or shielding system needed to be light enough to install and reposition without bringing additional lifting equipment or manpower onto site.
The Solution
Legend Hire specified a Griffo Arch Spreader in combination with a Legend Pro Aluminium Shoring Box. The low overall weight of the system was a key advantage, allowing the crew to complete the works using only the single 20-tonne excavator already on site. The Griffo Arch Spreader provided excellent working clearance within the excavation, giving the crew more room to carry out their works while maintaining reliable trench wall protection throughout.
With no need for additional lifting equipment or extra machinery, Maxibor was able to reduce site congestion, and keep the installation process efficient from start to finish.

Engineering Considerations
