Roof Support Project in Queensland

Temporary Propping System

Legend Hire was engaged to deliver a full turn-key package for a factory project in Queensland, providing a temporary propping solution to hold the roof structure and purlins securely in place during construction works. The system was designed to maintain the structural stability of the building while allowing safe and efficient completion of critical works. This approach ensured the integrity of the structure, enabling contractors to work without compromising safety or the project timeline.

Scope of Work

Design

  • Temporary propping layout engineered by Legend Hire’s in-house design team to suit the specific roof span and load requirements.
  • Consideration of live loads, dead loads, and wind actions during the open-roof phase.
  • Full compliance with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 3610, AS 4100, and AS/NZS 1170 series.

Supply

Titan Props supplied as primary vertical supports, selected for their high load     capacity and ease of adjustment.

GT Beams integrated to distribute loads effectively across multiple points and reduce concentrated forces.

Scaffold bracing system supplied to provide additional lateral stability to the propping arrangement.

Hardwood timber sleepers provided for use as base spreaders to protect the concrete slab and evenly distribute loads.

All components tested, certified, and tagged prior to dispatch.

Installation

  • Works completed by Legend Hire’s Queensland Install Team, fully trained in engineered propping assembly.
  • Timber spreader pads installed under each prop to protect slab surfaces and evenly distribute load.
  • Bracing and connection points installed to prevent buckling, sway, or movement during works.
