Overview
Elecnor Group, a global engineering and construction firm, recently expanded its equipment fleet for high-capacity aerial and underground line installation projects. Working with an OMAC distributor, Elecnor commissioned a new lineup of hydraulic machinery directly from OMAC Italy’s factory, including hands-on technical training and validation at OMAC’s headquarters.
The Challenge
To support its international transmission projects, Elecnor required equipment that could:
- Handle both aerial and underground line stringing
- Deliver high pulling capacity with reliable hydraulic performance
- Ensure operational safety and ease of use for field crews
- Offer long-term durability and maintainability
These specifications were necessary for consistent performance across varied geographies and demanding conditions.
The Solution
OMAC Italy delivered a tailored fleet of hydraulic winches and reel handling equipment. The commissioning process included factory acceptance testing and in-person training at OMAC’s Italian facility.

Equipment Supplied:
- F230.80 – Hydraulic winch, 8-ton capacity
- F245.100 – Hydraulic winch, 10-ton capacity
- W30 – Hydraulic winch for service work, 3-ton capacity
- F155.A.300 – Hydraulic reel winder, 30-ton capacity
Each unit was configured to meet Elecnor’s application requirements, with emphasis on usability, operator control, and reliability in the field.
Commissioning & Training
OMAC provided technical training to ensure operators were familiar with:
- Equipment functionality and controls
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Safe handling during line stringing operations
The session ensured Elecnor’s teams were prepared to deploy the machines immediately upon delivery.
Results
- Smooth deployment following factory validation
- Increased equipment readiness for upcoming projects
- Operator familiarity established prior to site work
- Reinforced collaboration between equipment supplier and field contractor
