Legend Hire provides Verification of Competency (VOC) training on all stringing machines and associated accessories, delivered by our in-house Cert IV-qualified Trainer and Assessor. Backed by our OEM partner OMAC Italy, our trainers bring manufacturer-level knowledge to every session, combining structured theory with hands-on practical assessment to ensure every operator is genuinely competent before they touch a machine on site.
A Verification of Competency (VOC) is a formal assessment confirming an operator can safely and competently use a specific machine, combining theory testing with practical demonstration under assessment conditions.
Training is delivered Australia-wide and covers the full range of stringing equipment in the Legend Hire fleet. Recent sessions have been conducted at active transmission line projects in Parkes and Yass, New South Wales, covering the PT100.22 100 kN Puller Tensioner and the T30.h Helicopter Tensioner respectively.

Cert IV Qualified Trainer & Assessor
All training and assessment is delivered by a Legend Hire team member holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This qualification ensures training is structured, consistent, and assessed against defined competency standards, not delivered informally or inconsistently between sites.
Theory and Practical (Combined)
Our VOC program covers both dimensions of operator competency:
Theory: Machine principles, hydraulic and electrical systems, safety devices, emergency procedures, pre-start inspection, and regulatory requirements.
Practical: Hands-on operation under assessment conditions, machine setup, controlled operation, fault recognition, shutdown, and maintenance tasks.
Operators are only deemed competent when they have demonstrated satisfactory performance across both theory and practical components. Partial completion does not result in a VOC.
