OMAC 21.12 Anti-Twisting Steel Rope

The OMAC 21.12 is an anti-twisting galvanised steel rope designed specifically for stringing operations, used as the pulling rope between a hydraulic puller and the conductor. It is made up of 12 braided strands, a construction that gives high break resistance while staying flexible and easy to handle.

Because the strands are braided rather than laid in a single helix, the rope has no tendency to unwind under tension, so it does not transfer rotation to the conductor or running board as it passes through the stringing blocks. The linear contact between the braided strands also reduces internal stress on the rope, which helps service life over repeated pulls.

The standard 21.12 series runs from Ø8 mm (44 kN breaking load, 0.22 kg/m) to Ø28 mm (480 kN, 2.80 kg/m). Ropes up to Ø16 mm come in 1000 m lengths on Ø1100 mm F162.110 steel reels; Ø18 to 28 mm ropes are wound on Ø1400 mm F162.140 reels in lengths from 500 to 1000 m. Custom lengths are available on request, and wooden reels can be supplied.

For heavier pulls, the high-resistance 21.18 series offers Ø22, 24 and 30 mm ropes with breaking loads of 402, 430 and 720 kN. Match the rope diameter to the bull-wheel grooves and maximum rope diameter of the puller it will run on.
