Home Solutions Equipment Sales Reels and ropes OMAC 23.P Dyneema/Polyester Rope

The OMAC 23.P is a rope with a Dyneema core and polyester covering, used as a pilot or pulling rope in overhead line stringing. The high-strength Dyneema core carries the load, while the polyester cover protects it from abrasion as the rope runs through stringing blocks and over bull-wheels.
Six diameters are available, from Ø6 mm (3100 daN breaking load, 0.050 kg/m) to Ø16 mm (20990 daN, 0.200 kg/m). Elongation is 3%, measured at 8% of breaking load. At these weights the 23.P is a fraction of the mass of a steel rope of similar diameter, which makes it easier to handle at height and lighter on the puller drum.
Standard lengths are 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000 m for Ø6 to 10 mm, up to 2000 m for Ø12 and 14 mm, and 500 or 1000 m for Ø16 mm. The rope is supplied wound on wooden reels or in coils, with Ø1100, 1400 or 1600 mm steel reels available.
Terminations can be supplied as clamped eyes with metallic collars, hand-spliced eyes, or a head stocking-grip with eyes. Note that clamped eyes reduce breaking load by 30–35% compared with the rope itself, which should be factored into working-load calculations.
Dimensions and weights are without optional devices.
