OMAC CW15 Hydraulic Winch

The OMAC CW15 is a hydraulic winch rated at 15 kN, built around two large-groove side capstans rather than a storage drum. It is designed for stringing LV and MV overhead lines, hoisting and tower erection, underground cabling and sagging, where a capstan winch lets the crew handle rope of any length because the rope passes over the capstan instead of being stored on the machine.

The two capstans sit either side of the unit: the panel-side capstan has a Ø200 mm bottom groove and the opposite capstan a Ø250 mm bottom groove. Rope holder clamps are fitted to both. The winch pulls 15 kN at 15 m/min and reaches a maximum speed of 38 m/min.

A dynamometer reads the pulling value directly, with a load-limiter device to cap the maximum force, and the single hydraulic circuit uses a negative brake system that holds the load if pressure is lost. Power comes from an air-cooled petrol engine rated at 11.5 hp (8.5 kW) with electric starting.

Where rope storage is needed, option 086.5 adds a special drum with automatic spooler device for 200 m of Ø8 mm rope. A rigid-axle trailer kit for manual towing is also available. In its standard form the CW15 weighs 320 kg and carries a balanced top lifting point and anchoring attachments.
