OMAC F155 Reel-Stand

The OMAC F155 is a pair of reel-stands for steel or wooden reels, used to lift a reel and brake it while the conductor or cable is strung. Six models cover maximum loads from 70 kN (F155.070) to 200 kN (F155.200), making it the main reel-stand for transmission-scale conductor drums.

Each stand can be raised or lowered independently by its own hydraulic hand pump, which makes it easier to level a heavy reel on uneven ground. Mechanical safe-stops on the jack arm, side supports with ball joints, a complete spindle with accessories, conical bushes for wooden reels and centering devices for steel reels are all standard, along with a metallic tool box.

Braking starts with one self-braking disc brake per pair, with an additional disc brake (opt. 423) to double the torque, or hydraulic clamp brakes (opt. 410.3) for the highest values. On the F155.200, braking torque runs from 350 daN·m standard to 1200 daN·m with hydraulic brakes.

For powered work, option 408 adds a hydraulic drive to rotate the reel for recovering or releasing conductor, at up to 5 km/h, fed from a hydraulic power unit through hose sets of 7, 10 or 15 m. Manual and automatic rope-winders are available for selected models. The framework is welded and painted steel with anchoring attachments, and a pair weighs from 420 kg (F155.070) to 1400 kg (F155.200).
