OMAC F157 Reel-Cradle

The OMAC F157 is a reel-cradle designed to lift and unwind a steel rope reel, typically the pilot or pulling rope paid out ahead of conductor stringing. It is fully galvanised for corrosion resistance and comes complete with the reel shaft.

The cradle is completely demountable, so it breaks down for easy transport between sites and is re-assembled where the reel is to be paid out. Two sizes are available. The F157.14.S takes reels from Ø1.10 to 1.40 m, carries 2000 daN and weighs 61 kg. The F157.19 takes reels from Ø1.40 to 1.90 m, carries 2600 daN and weighs 144 kg. Both use a Ø50 mm spindle.

In standard form the reel turns freely. For braked unwinding, option 410.1 adds a disc brake with 150 daN·m of braking torque on either model, and option 410.4 fits a high-capacity disc brake with 280 daN·m on the F157.19.

Paired with OMAC F162 or F164 rope reels, the F157 gives a light, low-cost way to pay out pilot rope where a full F155 reel-stand is more than the job needs.
