Home Solutions Equipment Sales Pulleys OMAC F198 Anti-Twisting Counterweight

The OMAC F198 is an anti-twisting counterweight fit for stringing overhead fibre optic cables (OPGW). OPGW carries optical fibres inside the earth wire, and twisting it during the pull can damage the fibres, so the cable has to be held against rotation as it travels through the blocks.
The F198 is a rigid counterweight clamped to the cable with interchangeable, machined jaws lined with nylon to protect the cable surface. Counterweights are used in pairs, spaced at least about 3 m apart, and the cable diameter must be specified at order so the correct jaws are supplied. A metallic carrying case is included.
Three sizes are listed: the F198.50 (22 kg per pair) for Ø350/500 mm running-out blocks with 60/68 mm grooves, the F198.60 (38 kg) for Ø500/800 mm blocks with 68 mm grooves, and the F198.88 (46 kg) for Ø650/800 mm blocks with 95 mm grooves.
Where the cable is pulled with a stocking grip rather than clamped directly, the F198.1 is the stocking-compatible version.
Dimensions and weights are without optional devices.
