OMAC P190 Hydraulic Puller

The OMAC P190 is a hydraulic puller rated to 190 kN for stringing overhead transmission lines.

Description

The OMAC P190 is a hydraulic puller that pulls one rope in stringing operations on overhead transmission lines. It delivers a maximum pull of 190 kN at 2.2 km/h. At its top speed of 5 km/h it delivers 80 kN.

The machine has one pair of multi-grooved steel bull-wheels, each Ø700 mm with 10 grooves, suited to stringing one steel rope. It accepts ropes up to 28 mm in diameter and joints up to 70 mm. A reelwinder takes a 1900 mm diameter reel and includes an automatic ropewinder.

Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 292 hp (215 kW), with a 24 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit.

The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The P190 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. A pull force setting device holds the pre-set force even at zero speed, and a negative hydraulic brake provides safety braking.

As standard, the P190 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has hydraulic back stabilisers and manual front stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a manual rope clamp. The machine measures 4.10 m long, 2.30 m wide and 2.30 m high, and weighs 7500 kg without rope.

Optional devices include:

  • An axle with leaf spring suspension, drawbar, pneumatic braking, tyres and lights for road towing (without homologation) Road towing light
  • A pneumatic braking system
  • A cold-start device for the diesel engine and hydraulic circuit down to -30°C
