OMAC P50 Hydraulic Puller
The OMAC P50 is a compact hydraulic puller that pulls one rope in stringing operations on overhead transmission lines. It delivers 50 kN max pull, handles ropes up to 16 mm and weighs 2100 kg without rope. A 74 hp water-cooled diesel engine powers it, with a DEG 4.0 control panel and maintenance-free load cell reading.
Description
The OMAC P50 is a hydraulic puller that pulls one rope in stringing operations on overhead transmission lines. It delivers a maximum pull of 50 kN at 2.2 km/h. At its top speed of 5 km/h it delivers 17 kN.
The machine has one pair of multi-grooved steel bull-wheels, each Ø400 mm with 7 grooves, suited to stringing one steel rope. It accepts ropes up to 16 mm in diameter and joints up to 50 mm. A reelwinder takes a 1600 mm diameter reel and includes an automatic ropewinder.
Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 74 hp (55 kW), with a 12 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit.
The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The P50 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. A pull force setting device holds the pre-set force even at zero speed, and a negative hydraulic brake provides safety braking.
As standard, the P50 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has hydraulic back stabilisers and manual front stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a manual rope clamp. The machine measures 2.85 m long, 1.80 m wide and 1.85 m high, and weighs 2100 kg without rope.
