OMAC P70.B Hydraulic Puller

The OMAC P70.B is a hydraulic puller that pulls one rope in stringing operations on overhead transmission lines and optical fibre cables. It delivers a maximum pull of 70 kN at 14 m/min. At its top speed of 60 m/min it delivers 13 kN.The machine has multi-grooved steel bull-wheels, 2 x Ø350 mm with 7 grooves. It accepts ropes up to 16 mm in diameter and joints up to 45 mm. Reel-winder arms with an automatic rope-winder and a hydraulic lifting system take reels up to Ø1400 mm.Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 36 kW, with 12 V starting. An oil cooling system is fitted, and a metallic protection cover shields the engine and hydraulic parts.A dynamometer with a load-limiter device gives a direct reading of the pulling value. The P70.B also has an electronic instrument by-pass, and a negative hydraulic brake provides safety braking.As standard, the P70.B sits on a single rigid axle with an adjustable towing bar and a manual parking brake for low-speed towing on the job site. It has two mechanical stabilisers on the pulling side, two on the reel-winder side, and anchoring and lifting points. The machine measures 3590 mm long, 1640 mm wide and 1830 mm high, and weighs 1500 kg without rope.

Optional devices include:

• A chassis with damped axle, overrun brake and drawbar for road towing (homologation excluded)
• A compact cable remote control with 10 m of cable
• A radio remote control with display and 5 m back-up cable
• A pipe refurbishing device that sets the max pull force and holds it even at 0 m/min
• Two hydraulic stabilisers on the pulling side
• A motorised rubber crawler system with front hydraulic plough and radio remote control for the crawler and pulling operations
