OMAC PT50.2 Hydraulic Puller-Tensioner

The OMAC PT50.2 is a hydraulic machine designed to operate both as a tensioner and as a puller, stringing one or two ropes or conductors. As a puller it delivers a maximum pull of 50 kN at 2.3 km/h, and 22 kN at its top speed of 5 km/h. As a tensioner it delivers a maximum tension of 50 kN, with a top speed of 5 km/h.The machine has one pair of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, 2 x Ø1500 mm with 8 grooves. It accepts conductors up to 2 x 36 mm and ropes up to 16 mm in diameter. A version with Ø1800 mm bull-wheels is also available. A device to control low-force tensions (2–15 kN) is fitted as standard and is suited to OPGW.Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 75 hp (55 kW), with a 12 V electric plant. An oil cooling system is fitted, and two auxiliary hydraulic circuits run additional equipment (1 or 2 reel-winders or reel-stands).The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The PT50.2 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. In puller mode, a pull-force setting device holds the pre-set force even at zero speed. It also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, a negative hydraulic safety brake, a manual clamp for 2 ropes or conductors, and a back fix conductor-driver with nylon rollers for 2 conductors.As standard, the PT50.2 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has a hydraulic front plough and back stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 3.95 m long, 2.00 m wide and 2.20 m high, and weighs 3600 kg.
