OMAC T100.2 Hydraulic Tensioner

The OMAC T100.2 is a hydraulic tensioner that strings one or two conductors or optical fibre cables. It delivers a maximum tension of 100 kN and a minimum tension of 4 kN, with a top speed of 5 km/h. In pull-back mode it delivers a maximum pull of 100 kN at 0.8 km/h.

The machine has one pair of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, each Ø1500 mm with 10 grooves. It accepts conductors up to 2 x 42 mm in diameter. A version with Ø1800 mm bull-wheels is also available. A device to control low-force tensions (4–30 kN) is fitted as standard and is especially suited to fibre-optic cables.

Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 47 hp (35 kW), with a 12 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit, and an auxiliary hydraulic circuit controls 1 or 2 reel-stands (not independent).

The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The T100.2 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. It also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, a negative hydraulic safety brake, a manual clamp for 2 conductors, and two back fix conductor-drivers with nylon rollers.

As standard, the T100.2 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has a mechanical front plough and back stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 4.00 m long, 2.10 m wide and 2.30 m high, and weighs 4100 kg without rope.
