OMAC T140.22.18 Hydraulic Tensioner

The OMAC T140.22.18 is a tensioner with two hydraulic circuits that strings one or two conductors. It delivers a maximum tension of 1 x 140 kN or 2 x 70 kN, with a top speed of 5 km/h. In pull-back mode it delivers a maximum pull of 1 x 140 kN or 2 x 70 kN at 0.8 km/h.

The machine has two pairs of steel bull-wheels lined with interchangeable grooved nylon sectors, 4 x Ø1800 mm with 12 grooves. A synchronisation device links the rotation of the bull-wheels. It accepts conductors up to 2 x 52 mm in diameter.

Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 75 hp (55 kW), with a 12 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the hydraulic oil, and two auxiliary hydraulic circuits control 1 or 2 motorised reel-stands independently.

The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. Pulling force is measured directly by a maintenance-free load cell, and an electronic instrument by-pass switches to manual operation in case of failure. The T140.22.18 also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, two negative hydraulic emergency brakes, a rear cable guide with nylon rollers, and a manual clamp for 2 conductors.

As standard, the T140.22.18 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a hand brake and a towing bar for use on the job site. It has mechanical front and back stabilisers, anchoring and lifting points, and a grounding point. The machine measures 4.50 m long, 2.25 m wide and 2.80 m high, and weighs 9700 kg without rope.
