OMAC T160.4 Hydraulic Tensioner

The OMAC T160.4 is a hydraulic tensioner that strings 1, 2, 3 or 4 conductors, or up to 6 on demand. It delivers a maximum tension of 1 x 160 kN, with a top speed of 5 km/h. In pull-back mode it delivers a maximum pull of 160 kN at 1 km/h.

The machine has one pair of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, 2 x Ø1500 mm with 16 grooves. It accepts conductors up to 4 x 42 mm in diameter. A version with Ø1800 mm bull-wheels is also available.

Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 75 hp (55 kW), with a 24 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit, and two auxiliary hydraulic circuits control up to 4 reel-stands (not independent).

The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The T160.4 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. It also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, negative hydraulic safety brakes, a manual clamp for conductors, and back fix conductor-drivers with nylon rollers for 4 conductors.

As standard, the T160.4 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has a hydraulic front plough and back stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 4.50 m long, 2.30 m wide and 2.80 m high, and weighs 7800 kg without rope.
