OMAC T280.42.18 Hydraulic Tensioner
The OMAC T280.42.18 is a two hydraulic circuit tensioner that strings 1, 2, 3 or 4 conductors (up to 6 on demand). It delivers 280 kN (2 x 140 kN) max tension, handles conductors up to 4 x 54 mm and weighs 14500 kg without rope. A 135 hp diesel engine powers two pairs of Ø1800 mm bull-wheels on a tandem-axle chassis.
Description
The OMAC T280.42.18 is a tensioner with two hydraulic circuits that strings 1, 2, 3 or 4 conductors, or up to 6 on demand. It delivers a maximum tension of 280 kN (2 x 140 kN) at up to 3 km/h, with a top speed of 5 km/h. In pull-back mode it delivers a maximum pull of 280 kN (2 x 140 kN) at 1 km/h.The machine has two pairs of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, 4 x Ø1800 mm with 20 grooves, fit for 4 conductors in total. Devices couple the two pairs of bull-wheels. It accepts conductors up to 4 x 54 mm in diameter.Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 135 hp (100 kW), with a 24 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit, and two auxiliary hydraulic circuits control up to 4 reel-stands (not independent).The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The T280.42.18 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. It also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, two negative hydraulic safety brakes, and front and back conductor-drivers with nylon rollers for 4 conductors.As standard, the T280.42.18 sits on a chassis with two rigid axles (tandem), tyres and a drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has a hydraulic front plough, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 5.40 m long, 2.45 m wide and 3.00 m high, and weighs 14500 kg without rope.
