OMAC T30.H Helicopter Solution

The OMAC T30.H is a hydraulic tensioner built for helicopter stringing of one conductor. It holds braking force constant regardless of helicopter speed, even during a rapid slowdown, and can also work as a winch to recover the cable. It delivers 30 kN max tension at up to 25 km/h and handles conductors up to 34 mm.

Description

The OMAC T30.H is a hydraulic tensioner designed specifically for helicopter stringing of one conductor. It is equipped with devices that allow accurate control of braking even if the helicopter slows rapidly, keeping braking force constant regardless of helicopter speed. The machine can also be used as a winch to recover the cable or conductor. It delivers a maximum tension of 30 kN and a minimum tension of 4.5 kN, with a maximum continuous speed of 20 km/h and a top speed of 25 km/h.The machine has one pair of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, 2 x Ø1500 mm with 6 + 6 grooves. It accepts conductors up to 34 mm in diameter. A version with Ø1800 mm bull-wheels is also available. A rear cable guide fitted with steel pulleys is standard.Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 38 hp (28 kW), with a 12 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit, and an auxiliary hydraulic circuit controls a winch or auxiliary carrier. The control panel has a built-in electronic instrument and recorder with a large colour screen and a USB port. It displays pulling force, speed and rope length in real time, sets the maximum braking force, shows working hours, and logs data to flash disk, with data processing software supplied. Two safety devices protect the operation. One prevents a sudden stop during unwinding if the diesel engine fails, allowing controlled unwinding at reduced speed (max. 5 km/h). The other maintains the preset braking force and speed (max. 25 km/h) if the electric circuit fails. As standard, the T30.H sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has ground anchors, machine lifting points, support stands, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 3.85 m long, 1.90 m wide and 2.30 m high, and weighs 3500 kg without rope.

Optional Devices

  • Audible and visual device to signal specific anomalies and fuel reserve.
  • Radio remote control (max distance 50 m) for tensioner operation, with braking force knob (“braking” mode), speed potentiometer (“puller” mode), joystick for winding and unwinding (“puller” mode), data display, emergency button, and 10 m cable for backup control.
  • Electronic recorder printer, with accessories.
  • Grounding device with 6 m long insulated copper cable, complete with terminal and pole.
  • Automatic pressure wheels designed to prevent derailment of the cable or conductor from the bull-wheel grooves, suitable for passing the junction sleeve over the grooves at reduced speed.
Performance figures apply to the machine without optional devices, at sea level and 20°C. Dimensions and weights exclude optional devices.
