OMAC T40 Hydraulic Tensioner
The OMAC T40 is a hydraulic tensioner that strings one conductor or fibre optic cable. It delivers 40 kN max tension, handles conductors up to 36 mm and weighs 2500 kg without rope. A low-force tension device (1.5–15 kN) suits optical fibres, and a DEG 4.0 control panel with maintenance-free load cell reading is fitted as standard.
Description
The OMAC T40 is a hydraulic tensioner that strings one conductor or fibre optic cable. It delivers a maximum tension of 40 kN and a minimum tension of 1.5 kN, with a top speed of 5 km/h. In pull-back mode it delivers a maximum pull of 40 kN at 1.2 km/h (1.0 km/h*).The machine has one pair of steel bull-wheels lined with multi-grooved nylon sectors, each Ø1500 mm with 5 grooves. It accepts conductors up to 1 x 36 mm in diameter. A device to control low-force tensions (1.5–15 kN) is fitted as standard and is especially suited to optical fibres.Power comes from a water-cooled diesel engine rated at 35 hp (26 kW), or 25.5 hp (18.8 kW)*, with a 12 V electric plant. A heat exchanger cools the oil in the hydraulic circuit, and one auxiliary hydraulic circuit controls one reel-stand.The operator works from a control panel with a built-in DEG 4.0 electronic instrument, which has a 7″ graphic colour display and a USB port. The T40 uses a maintenance-free load cell reading system and has an electronic instrument by-pass. It also has a self-recovery device for sagging operations, a negative hydraulic safety brake, a manual clamp for the conductor, and a back fix conductor-driver with nylon rollers.As standard, the T40 sits on a rigid-axle chassis with a manual brake and a detachable drawbar for low-speed towing on the job site. It has a mechanical front plough and back stabilisers, attachments for anchoring and lifting, and a grounding connection point. The machine measures 3.85 m long, 1.85 m wide and 2.20 m high, and weighs 2500 kg without rope.* According to the EC directive 97/68/CE with subsequent amendments and additions.
