OMAC W10.L Hydraulic Winch

The OMAC W10.L is a hydraulic axial drum winch with a 10 kN maximum pull, designed for stringing LV and MV overhead lines, hoisting and tower erection, underground cabling and sagging. It is the lightest machine in OMAC’s service winch range, suited to distribution-line crews and tower teams who need controlled, measured pulling without bringing a full-size puller to site.

Pull performance is 10 kN at 13 m/min, with a maximum line speed of 35 m/min for faster rope recovery under lighter load. A dynamometer gives a direct reading of the pulling value, and its load-limiter device lets the operator cap the maximum force before the pull starts, protecting rope, hardware and structures from overload.

The standard drum measures Ø160/331 x 440 mm and holds 250 m of Ø10 mm rope. Two alternative drum lengths are offered: a short Ø160/331 x 250 mm drum for 150 m of Ø10 mm rope, and a long Ø160/331 x 560 mm drum for 350 m, so the winch can be matched to the span lengths a crew typically works.

Power comes from an air-cooled petrol engine rated at 8.5 hp (6.3 kW) with pull start, driving a single hydraulic circuit with a negative brake system that holds the load automatically if hydraulic pressure is lost. A balanced top lifting point and anchoring attachments are fitted as standard, so the 190 kg unit can be lifted into position and secured quickly.
