OMAC W35 Hydraulic Winch

The OMAC W35 is a hydraulic front drum winch with a 35 kN maximum pull, suitable for transport by helicopter. It is designed for stringing LV and MV overhead lines, hoisting and tower erection, underground cabling and sagging, and its helicopter-ready build makes it a practical choice for tower sites in rugged or remote terrain where road access is limited.

The steel drum measures Ø450/680 x 700 mm and holds up to 450 m of Ø16 mm rope, wound evenly by an automatic swinging rope-winder. The winch pulls 35 kN at 25 m/min and runs up to 85 m/min, giving quick rope recovery when the load is light.

The control panel carries a dynamometer with a max pull force preselector, so the operator can set the force limit before a hoist or pull. A safety hydraulic negative brake holds the load, and option 064 adds a load descent control device for engine failure, which is worth specifying for lifting work.

Power comes from a liquid-cooled 36.5 hp (27 kW) diesel engine, with a heat exchanger to keep hydraulic oil temperature in check through long duty cycles. The machine is enclosed in metallic coverage with doors and sits on a rigid axle with tyres and a drawbar for low-speed towing, with mechanical front and back stabilisers and anchoring points. It measures 1900 x 1300 x 1650 mm and weighs 1100 kg without rope.
