Portable & Adjustable Stairs

The stairs give stepped access down a trench. The treads self-level to the angle of the batter. This keeps the walking surface flat.Excavation levels change as the dig progresses. The stairs adjust to suit the new angle. You do not need a different stair set for each change of level.The stairs are available in 600 mm and 1200 mm widths. Join multiple stairs end to end to span a long batter. Build top and mid landings from Proscaf or from custom aluminium fabrication.Bolt the top of the stairs into a timber sleeper or into structural ply. Pin the bottom of the stairs into the dirt. The stairs do not need footings. Move and reset the stairs when the excavation changes.Use the stairs in place of a ladder for primary or secondary access. A worker on stairs keeps one hand free to carry tools.Access forms part of the excavation risk assessment. Plan the access with the shoring design, not after it. Our engineers can review both together. Where a stair run does not fit, we also supply ladder access platforms and ladder access ramps.
