Project: Damaged Concrete Wall Bracing & Support
Location: New South Wales
Sector: Construction / Structural Remediation
Project Lead: Nick Smith
Services Provided: Temporary wall bracing, structural propping
Equipment Used: Legend 50T Modular Propping System, Tilt Props
Uneven ground and irregular wall surfaces can make conventional propping alignment difficult to achieve. In these situations, a modular propping system combined with tilt prop bracing provides the angular adjustability needed to maintain consistent load transfer against the wall face throughout cut-out and repair works.
Project Overview
A damaged concrete wall in New South Wales required a section to be cut out and removed for structural repair. Legend Hire engineered a temporary bracing solution using a Legend 50T Modular Propping System and Tilt Props to stabilise the wall across uneven ground and surface conditions, allowing the client to safely complete the cut-out and remediation works without structural risk.
The Challenge
The client needed to safely cut out and remove a damaged section of a concrete wall without compromising the structural integrity of the remaining structure.
The primary engineering challenge was the combination of uneven ground conditions and an irregular wall surface, which made conventional propping alignment difficult to achieve.
Without adequate temporary support, the wall was at risk of movement during the cut-out process, creating a significant structural and safety risk on site.
The Solution
Legend Hire’s team assessed the site conditions and configured a Legend 50T Modular Propping System combined with Tilt Prop bracing to accommodate the uneven surfaces.
The modular system allowed prop heights and angles to be adjusted precisely, compensating for ground and wall irregularities while maintaining full load transfer against the concrete wall face.
Multiple props were deployed across the wall face to distribute structural loads evenly, reducing point load concentration and ensuring uniform stabilisation during cutting operations.
Tilt Props provided the additional angular bracing capacity required to hold the wall face securely throughout the works.

The Outcome
The temporary wall bracing system successfully stabilised the concrete wall throughout the cut-out and repair process. The client was able to safely remove the damaged wall section and complete structural repairs without incident. The combination of modular propping and tilt prop bracing provided the flexibility required to address difficult site conditions while maintaining full structural load management.
FAQ’s
Temporary wall bracing stabilises concrete or masonry walls during cutting, removal, or repair works. It transfers structural loads safely while the wall’s permanent integrity is compromised, allowing contractors to complete remediation works without risk of movement or collapse.
Modular propping systems like the Legend 50T can be adjusted in height and angle to compensate for irregular ground or wall surfaces. When combined with Tilt Props, the system maintains proper load transfer even where conventional vertical propping is not achievable.
Tilt Props are used where a wall or structure requires angular bracing, particularly where ground conditions are uneven or where a diagonal bearing angle is needed to properly stabilise the wall face during structural works.
